5cut processes your selected videos and audio locally on your device to create a trimmed output video. Your media is not uploaded to a 5cut server.
5cut does not require an account and does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, contacts, or precise location.
The app stores some information locally on your device to function correctly:
Photos (Add Only): Used to save exported videos to your photo library. The app requests "Add Only" access and does not need to read your entire library.
Files: Used when you import a video file via the file picker.
If you purchase Premium (via monthly subscription or lifetime purchase), StoreKit and the App Store handle the transaction. 5cut does not receive your payment details. Apple may provide us with non-identifying purchase status information needed to unlock Premium features.
5cut does not currently send analytics or tracking data to third-party servers. If this changes, this policy will be updated and you will be informed in the app.
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation. Since 5cut does not maintain user accounts or store your media on our servers, most data stays on your device. You can delete all local app data by uninstalling 5cut.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. 5cut does not sell personal information. Since all data is processed locally on your device, there is no personal information stored on our servers to disclose or delete.
5cut does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require an account, does not collect personal data, and processes all content locally on-device. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
5cut stores app settings and export counters locally on your device using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults). This data persists until you uninstall the app or reset it from Settings. No data is retained on any external server. Purchase records are managed by Apple through the App Store.
As declared in the App Store, 5cut does not collect any data that is linked to your identity. The app accesses device storage only to check available space before exporting, and uses UserDefaults to store your preferences locally. No data leaves your device.
